In an Order in Council (OC) dated Wednesday August 10, 2022, a well-known Saskatchewan conservative and farmer named Levi Wood was appointed to Saskatchewan’s Farm Land Security Board.

The next day, Thursday, August 11, 2022, someone associated with Levi Wood purportedly approached two individuals and a black SUV with a Government of Canada logo emblazoned on the door, parked off the highway in a field, where the two individuals were allegedly collecting water samples from a dugout.

Eight full days later, at 6:55PM on Friday August 19, 2022, Wood posted a photo of the encounter on his Twitter feed with the caption:

“Anyone else see a Government of Canada SUV taking water samples from your dugouts? They said they were ‘checking for pesticides’ #creatinganarrative”
