I'm Leaving Saskatchewan. Here's Why.
15 years ago I was introduced to many of you through the radio.
I’ve had the pleasure of welcoming others to my audience over the last decade, whether through this website, my original blog, on Twitter, or on rare occasion we met in-person.
I marvel at the variety and diversity of the subscribers to this Substack. It’s unbelievably humbling that anyone as smart as you thinks I have anything to say worth reading.
I’m glad every one of you is here.
Over the years I’ve lived much of my life as an open book, for better or worse (I don’t recommend this strategy). I became skilled at carving out clear voices in overcrowded spaces and at creating and managing other public brands, but paid little mind to my own.
I’ve spent most of my adult years pioneering the rapid, rocky evolution of digital news and media and its impact on this tiny backwater. Social media doesn’t work in little ol’ Saskatchewan the way it works in other more sophisticated populated regions.
Neither does political commentary.
We are far too small.
