Political persecution in Saskatchewan is not new, but seems to be ramping up.
Take it from me, you're going to want to start thinking about how to protect yourself.
I freely admit this post is self-indulgent.
If you’re not interested in the occasional deeply personal reflection from me, please ignore this one.
Yesterday this story, How Scott Moe Moved Saskatchewan—and Canada—Further Right was released by Canadian magazine The Walrus.
It will be on the cover of their fall print edition, on newsstands next month.
““For many, Moe appeals to people’s worst instincts in an increasingly polarized province—and country.
“You’ve got this entitled white guy who has failed upwards his entire life running the province and is now at the pinnacle of his power in that role,” Robert says. “He has become more dangerous and more reckless because of this.”” - The Walrus, July 23, 2024
Spoiler alert: “Robert” is me and that’s how the article closes.
The story lays it out in unequivocal terms: Scott Moe is corrupt and unfit.
Whether Scoots liked what I had to say or not is irrelevant to me today. In fact I think it’s funny that so many local goofs have tried, and failed, to get rid of me.
However, the Walrus story was published at the same time, coincidentally, that I’m back in Saskatchewan for the first time in well over a year.
The result of those two factoids colliding is I want to talk about it, so we shall.
