Hollywood has been entertaining us with depictions of these political shenanigans for years. You want to believe it’s Scandal or even House of Cards, but the single most accurate portrayal of what you don’t see is Veep.
Consider every agonizing moment of Joe Biden’s prolonged exit from the US presidential race, the single largest democratic voting exercise in the Western world. Biden’s very real human dilemma mirrored a plotline we saw first on Veep.
One of the most powerful figures in human history, Biden showed us he’s also an addled, stubborn, sometimes irrational and ultimately very typical grandpa.
Because politics is people and more importantly, their imperfect, lived experiences, tossed into a blender then served up to voters, the result is usually chaos.
That chaos is what I’m going to tell you about in this weekly report.
