The Catastrophic Failure of Saskatchewan's 21st Century Labour Movement & Its Leaders
There is good news though, so bear with me.
I know, I’m just so goddamn cheerful.
Look, I’m not here to tell you what’s good about Saskatchewan. Someday I hope the sheer volume of bad eases up enough that I could consider writing about the good.
In the meantime, my focus is shining light on what is fuelling this dumpster fire.
The Sask Party pours gasoline over the bin they put Saskatchewan in (over a decade ago) at regular and increasingly destructive intervals. They started the fire and are happy to watch it burn. It’s not hard; you can see the flames from outer space.
Question is, where are our firefighters?
Because destructive, elitist, self-serving and corrupt governments are not new.
Neither are uprisings.
History, including Saskatchewan’s, is full of stories of battles that repressed groups, communities, workplaces and entire countries fought and won to take back their rights.
Notice I didn’t say “freedoms”. (We’ll get back to that.)
The February 2022 truckers’ convoy to Ottawa, which started in Western Canada, was not the original convoy of unhappy Canadians to Ottawa.
