We Need To Talk About the McMurchys
Weaponized social manipulation of the tiny population of this province is a problem and I'm happy to talk about it.
A couple years ago I moved away from Saskatchewan.
I was quickly greeted by new opportunities and professionally I have never looked back.
But I have kids in Saskatchewan, elderly parents, own property… I couldn’t be gone forever. As awesome as it was to be away, it never felt like my time to start over somewhere else completely.
I spent most of 2024 straddling two worlds, but by November was resigned doing what I had to do. I don’t need to be here constantly, but I definitely have to be here more and consistently. At a good friend’s insistence I even worked retail for her before Christmas (instead of joining a gym and honestly, it was the best few hours of my week and when I can I go back).
When I decided to leave Sask in 2022, there were many factors behind the decision, which was really difficult, but a few catalysts who pushed it over the edge.
One was a Regina woman named Tracey McMurchy.
